Mexican Libertad “onzas” are Mexico’s equivalent to the American Silver Eagle(ASE). This Libertad is actually 2 ounces.  They measure 48 mm in diameter and are 67.25 grams of .925 fine silver for total of 2 oz of pure silver. The two ounce Libertad coins are not produced in as large of quantities. For instance in 2015, over 900,000 one ounce Libertad coins were minted while only 20,100 two ounce coins were sold. Because of this, our search does include some 2 oz Libertad coins that are slighly above their intrinsic value.
